Last time I was in my hometown, I had the privilege to photograph the actors of Cia. de Teatro Musical Tatiana Gurgel. If you you know me, you’ve probably heard me talking about how I used to be their stage photographer.

I loved that job! In fact, if I ever land another stage photography gig, you’ll see a very happy me! There’s something special about being around artists. About being involved in the process of workshopping a play, rehearsing, seeing it come to live.

Anyway, I’m here to actually talk about how much fun the day I spent with these incredibly talented actors was.

We had a huge studio, with floor to ceiling windows that just provided the dreamiest light for portraits. Photographing them was something altogether different from my usual portrait work. They move differently, they stare at the camera differently, and I’m completely fascinated by that.

So, I’ve made the decision this is something I need to do more often.

To start off the new year, I’m holding a Headshot Mini-Sessions Marathon at the beautiful Fostr Collaborative space. I’m so excited to be able to work a a natural light studio in Washington DC.

This means if you are an actor, dancer, musician, writer, or really anyone who needs new headshots (bloggers, influencer, models, executives, you are welcome too!) join us on February 17th in Georgetown, Washington DC for a whole day of portrait headshots. Oh! And Valerie Hammer will be there doing her magic! She’ll provide makeup touch-ups for everyone who sits in front of my camera.

Hope to see you there!
